well hello..she will disolve parliament......election time .. bring it on..

I'll bet she won't. Parliament can't have a confidence motion of the Senate.

I hope she tells Harper AND Dion to stop being silly and get some real work done.

it will be interesting... thankfully the decision will be made in the east.. ontario, quebec and the maritimes and harper has pissed them all off.. so pay backs a bitch

I dunno---Quebec regards DION as a confused fairy----so far as the rest---I don't detect any adullation for DION in Ontario---and I'm absolutely surrounded by fence-post LIBRANOs who are curiously silent.

I hope that she does what the PM asks her to do and dissolves parliament, as that is the PM's prerogative, but that she makes a public statement aftwerwards explaining how the PM is playing fast and loose with parliamentary tradition.

The truth is non-partisan.

Harper isnt doing all that well in Quebec and smoozing Charest didnt help either.. as for Quebecers calling M.Dion a fairy... nope.. if they used that term and they dont.. it would'nt be directed at a Quebecer.. .. they would probably visualize a western scene .. say like broke back mountain.. starring oh say g. wya and stevie makes you wonder... really makes you wonder..

This is wrong on so many levels. The government serves with the confidence of the HOUSE not the SENATE. Also, this would be a clear end run around their own fixed election dates law.

well this would be an usual move but if the senate does not pass these bills then they are not doing there job's and clearly things are not geting done in parliament.

and as for fixed election dates law they are hard to apply to a minority situation and opposition has been talking about bring the government down anyways . there is still specualtion liberals migth vote against budget or bring it down at another time before 2009 .

yeah i agree with your outlook on ontario , even with all the liberals here there is no real dion movement or massive support for him. he's there leader but no real push or anything . i suspect many would of been more into idea of a liberal leader from ontario instead of him .

That doesn't constitute non-confidence though. And you've got it backwards anyways. If they go ahead and pass blatantly unconstitutional law (reverse onus), THEN they're not doing their jobs.

Oh come off it. The whole point of fixed election dates is so that the government can't simply call an election when it suits them. So now Harper has to invent all these bogus confidence matters to do an end run around his own legislation so he can get his election when it suits him.
