Tricks Tricks: sandorski sandorski: You can't draw any conclusion about Hnadgun Bans from a City doing it, while it is surrounded by places where the Ban has no affect. So how would it help a country if it is surrounded by countries that have no ban.
Countries, unlike Cities, have enforced Borders. They are not 100% effective, as we know, but they are effective enough to reduce Supply to a trickle.

I once again point to the UK, it has a complete handgun ban. It is surrounded by water, that sounds like fairly good border protection. It's handgun use has continually risen, and dramatically I might add.

PluggyRug PluggyRug: Lets just ban the left handed guns. That should keep mayor Miller and his mealy mouth followers happy.
Let just ban left of center thinking people, they never come up with anything useful anyways.

the reality is if a ban didn't work in england a country surrounded by water there is no way one would work in canada since it borders the united states where guns are easily available .

the anti-gun crowd don't trust themselves with a gun. The beleive it will possess them and turn them into psycho killers.

It's about time the drug companies developed a cure for leftwinginess.
All time wasted on lefty ideals would be put to positive use.

Handgun use in Britain has risen, but mainly amongst organized Crime factions. Britains Handgun violence has always been very low and any increase makes statistics look worse then they are.

An increase which places Britains gun violence per 10,000 beyond New York/Chicago is not "very low". Ever hear of a place called Switzerland?

People are starting to run out of excuses after over 10 years of CCW permits in most of the US states. EVERY one of them has seen a marked reduction in not only murder rates BUT violent crime as a whole.
Hard to dispute those facts.

Same is true in other States without CCW. Demographics at work, not Guns.

Switzerland is another issue entirely. Swiss Citizens have a very different view of Gun Ownership.

If that were true, then the UK, NZ and AU would also be seeing this decrease, they aren't.

I'm going to stick my neck out here and say that I think the greatest opposition to guns is from the moms of this country that want their child protected from the threat of handguns, real or percieved. Most guys I know have no problem with guns and ownership, especially with knowledgable, resposible gun owners. I know I'm a lefty and I've always liked guns and I'd guess most boys do.

That's the stereotype that the Liberals are pandering too.
The ignorant and uninformed who's gut reactions are to pass a futile law because the liars and fools they vote for promise them something that the law could never deliver.
These are also the same people who have been running the show for a decade, solved nothing, but want another 4 years?

Is it really "pandering" when over 50% of voters are women?
