Nor is it just the English that visit Stonehenge on the summer solstice.

Dragon-Dancer Dragon-Dancer:
ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog:
They likely have as much in common with the original druids as modern Christianity has in sommon with the original followers and teachings of Christ.

Maybe not... of course that's where the neo comes from in neo-pagan. As long as they aren't hurting anyone I say let them be.

EyeBrock EyeBrock:
They left tons of litter. They couldn't give a shite about our pre-Roman religions or traditions. Wankers.

Just like with any other large crowd, litter has to be an expected result.

Bollocks. These guys espouse their spiritual links with mother earth etc, then defile one of the most ancient sites on the planet with beer cans and assorted bollocks. They pretend that they are above us common plebs who have to work.

They are a bunch of shallow posers who need a good shower.

I hope you're not implying that's what i meant? And that doesn't look like a sacred site to me.
This guy might disagree.

That's a real shame and invalidates the claims of these people they were there for religious reasons - you don't desecrate sacred sites like this. Britain should do a shaming of these people for the mess they left behind. Maybe it will change behavior next time.
I agree. Real Englishmen don't litter and it's only these neo-pagan dudes.

You are missing the point Fife. These guys pretend that they have religous and spiritual reasons for being at this holy place during solstice. Really they are just like any other littering bunch of Brit louts going to a rock concert.

Actually Brock, I agree with you, but leaving a mess behind in one of the basic human traits. Otherwise we wouldn't have:

It is a human trait Fife. I agree but having spent a lot of time on and around Salisbury Plain, including Stonehenge, it drives me nuts to see these wasters pretending to be there celebrating our heritage when they really are there just for the crack, to smoke weed and drink beer.

I'm all for that but pick up your shite and show us that you really do respect this very significant and spiritually important site. This lot are no different than the Glastonbury Rock crowd.

It's like the Craven Country Jamboree in Saskatchewan. Some people go there because they want to see and hear some Country Music, but most are there to puke up Coors and Bud.

Seems to have worked in Vancouver. We seem to have less litter than a few years back. I remember a TV crew filming an Asian gentleman dumping his fast food crap just out his car door. They ran up and tried to interview him, but of course he no speaka da English.

I think there was an increase in litter with Asian immigration (Vancouver was always known as a very clean city) but the message seems to have gotten thru in the last few years. Not that every Canucks game wasn't a pig sty afterwards, but what do you expect.

The message is getting through to them here now.....really slowly, but it's getting through. To the Chinese, they are very clean with their own space, but will dump garbagre anywhere else, including their neighbours yard or the local park and street corner.
