It fails on so many levels of logic, the most glaring of which is the conquests and violence carried out by Christianity and various Christian empires throughout history as well.

It is noted that Christianity had violent conquests as well. This has nothing to do with the logic behind Islam's conquests. Unless, of course, you are implying that Islam's conquests forced Christianity to embark on those conquests.

Islams conquests in the past were no different then virtually all the conquests of those time periods and as for today.

There is no conquest. There is no grand Muslim empire trying to recapture land or force itself upon the world.

Hell just last week we saw Saudi Arabia give public approval for Israel tto use its air space to attack Iran.

A Muslim nation is helping to facilitate a Jewish nation to attack another Muslim nation. Hardly the actions of a united Muslim front that hates all Jews and wishes to exterminate them.

Saudi Arabia has given taciturn approval for Israel to attack Iran. Hardly the actions of a nation of the most extremist Muslims (and I doubt you'll disagree) who wants to see the extermination of all Jews.

If they did then they would be helping the Iranians get nukes under the theory that whatever damage they receive they will at least be able to nuke the Jews in Israel, a fact you obviously believe.

In reality it shows that even an extremist Muslim nation like SA is concerned about stability in the region and is willing to help achieve it.

I have a feeling he is referring to my post saying that US imperialism of the past 100 years or so is to blame for so many Muslims hating them right now.

He is attempting to claim that Islam has pursued conquests in the past long before the US and therefore the point is incorrect.

I thought I'd clarify that for you. Putting this in context it is akin to Catholic Italy giving pagan Norway taciturn approval to attack Protestant Germany in the 1600's. It does not mean that Saudi Arabia is playing kissy-face with Israel, they aren't. It just means that Saudi Arabia would rather see Israel destroy Iran's growing nuclear capability than for Saudi Arabia to have to eventually deal with Iran's recurring territorial claims in the United Arab Emirates and the implications of those claims on Saudi Arabia.
