Can you turn those lights off? I physically broke all the LED lights on my desktop tower so that I could sleep easier, I can't imagine having a glowing green box sitting on my desk.

I thought of poking out the flashing lights on my VCR until I discovered BLACK ELECTRICAL TAPE. The original piece of tape has been on there for over 30 years!

These lights are rounded and the box is "open" so the light would leak from several sides, i did the electrical tape thing for awhile but it was pretty ugly looking to have like 6 pieces trying to cover every possibly angle.

EDIT: Wait, VCR?

It's probably a BETAMAX. 8)[/quote]

Betamax [huh] . Not sure wut u mean. My machine eats those tape thingys that are about 8"x4"x1". I've heard that the new tape player, the ones without the wire to the remote are much better. I'd really like to get one of those as I keep tripping over the damn wire! The new machines sure must be popular cuz I can't find one anywhere.

In Ukraine in 1998 VHS video player was only in very rich people houses. Till 1993 some folks were changing VHS video players for flats and houses.

Betamax was the "Apple I-Phone" of its age.

I don't disagree with capital punishment at all when in cases it was clear as daylight the person was guilty. I do however disagree with sentencing people on flimsy evidence.

Also disagree on methods of American executions in a failed attempt to make them "humane" mostly for the witnesses since the introduction of the electric chair till todays lethal drug combo and now even a worse new concoction.

And before the what about-ery artists come in, I'll also put on record that the US is not the only one who does this but since they execute such a large number of people it puts the spotlight on them, specially when they want the rest of the world to assume they are the moral beacons of the world.

Well, stick of two ends. Rest of life in prison is bigger punishment.

America is pretty good with that too; the land of the free has 25% of the world's prisoners

312 mln of people.

312 mln of people.

... which is less than 5% of the World's population ...

At least they have stats, not sure that India or China make a very meticulous info.

I'm sure that both could but China would never tell you what they are. India is somewhat more transparent.

So the US should use China and India as yardsticks for it's own behavior? I guess it makes sense, since China at least will be the new overlords. Compared to the civilized world, the US isn't looking so good in this metric, tho.
