No mistake was made by the Canadians, the citizens should direct their anger (if they have any) towards the driver of the vehicle that wouldn't stop, if it had of complied with CF commands than no shot would have been fired that is a fact. This was also a "warning" shot with means this was ultimately a case of a unlucky ricochet. All this post proves is that the CF soldiers don't fuck around with their own security and are very professional when it comes to their fire orders by giving repeated warnings.

The frequency of Afghan civilian vehicles blundering into the security perimeters of CF is suspected to have a sinister purpose. While Afghan drivers are generally menaces and clueless, the probability remains this has the intent of inciting complacency to facilitate suicide vehicles.
There is also the possibility that this "colateral casualty", allegedly an innocent bystander was shot by the bad guys and produced as a victim. The vehicle stopped and checked for injuries etc. I'm suspicious it's a frame-up.

This would indicate the Taliban lack popular support when they attack Afghans. This not the way to win friends.....it is also not a sign of the taliban winning.
It also points up to the neccessity of Coalition military supervision and further training for Afgan security teams.
