Hopefully no fatalities, especially considering this apparently happened in an elementary school classroom.

2 dead...teacher and shooter who chose to commit suicide. Apparently two students were also wounded too. But we all know this could have been avoided if the teacher and kids were all allowed to carry desert eagles in the class room.

According to the police down here it was a murder-suicide. On the radio earlier they said a husband had shot his teacher wife to death.

Naturally, school district authorities and the media are absolutely flummoxed wondering how on earth the gunman got his gun past the numerous "Gun Free Zone" signs posted outside the school.

Oh yeah... signs make all the difference to someone determined to commit murder with a loaded weapon.

One of the children that were shot has passed away. :(

Two wounded students were flown to a hospital where an eight-year-old later died. The other student was listed in critical condition.

Authorities say a man told the school that he had come to drop something off for his teacher-wife before shooting and killing her and a student in a special-needs classroom.

Police Chief Jarrod Burguan said at a news conference that Karen Elaine Smith, 53, was targeted and that her estranged husband, Cedric Anderson, 53, opened fire "very, very quickly upon entering the classroom." There were 15 students in the classroom.

San Bernardino City Unified School District superintendent Dale Marsden said Anderson was "known to staff" at the school.

Burguan said that Anderson and Smith had only been married for a few months and estranged for at least a month.

He said "no one has come forward to say they saw this coming."

Burguan also said Anderson had a criminal history of weapons charges, domestic violence and possible drug charges, but didn't provide details.

And they want to allow mentally ill people to purchase firearms.

Where's Alex Jones and the insane right to claim this is staged?

Given Anderson's history of weapons charges, domestic violence and possible drug charges I'd say he was either mentally ill or an escapee from Rahm Emanuel's "sanctuary city" program.

But either way he shouldn't have had a gun period but if he bought it on the black market which given his history is likely, I guess the memo didn't get to the drug dealer or gangbanger who sold it to him.

Special needs class? So they managed to find a target location even more helpless than the Sandy Hook kindergarten class was? Methinks that too many of these guys are as cowardly and gutless as the ISIS jerks who slaughter women and children in the Muslim world are. And, yes, comparing them to Muslim males is about the worst insult I can think of.

If only the special needs children had concealed Desert Eagles to defend themselves with!

Funny how these things only seem to happen so frequently in the US. Sounds like the problem is too many guns, not a lack of guns.

Too many dumbasses with guns. Rational people with firearms pose no threat to the public.

Sad truth is that rules and regulations do little to stop the wrong people from acquiring guns.
