    It seems to me that many NATO allies have already abandoned Afghanistan by not pulling their wieght. At the very least they have abandoned Canada.

    don't think canada wants to abandon afghanistan , the mission is controvercial but at the very least many want to stay to rebuild country and maintain a certain amount peace and stability there . the combat element is the part some people are having a problem with , less problem with the idea of being there .

    a blackmail tactic ?

    honest you come up with some pretty usual observations or suggestions

    think trying to include the russians in this discussion , is forgeting they went there for different reasons than NATO mission did

    Do try to get over the failure of your political utopia. The Berlin Wall went down 15-16 years back, the great socialist experiment got hi-jacked in 1917, THE COLD WAR IS OVER AND YOUR SIDE LOST.

    The Russians were not defeated by Afghanistan but rather by their own system. Their reach exceeded their grasp.

    Maybe you should try reading the article before making a comment that cements your reputation as the stupidest poster on this site.

    Right there in the very first sentence, nothing about Russia, just a statement about Canada and NATO.You remember NATO, they're the guys who beat the Warsaw Pact in the Cold War. Once again you reveal that you are a one-trick mindless pony. :roll: You make my dogs shit look smart.

    Canada wont pull out, they have requested more assitance and will get it, probably the Americans.
    If the UN can't get off their collective asses on this one then their orginization is dead. This is a test
    in every sence of the word. if the coalition fails on restoring democracey here it will be open season
    for terroism in every 3rd world country.

    NDP Leader Jack Layton says the Taliban cannot be defeated by international troops and there's no point continuing to fight an unwinnable war in Afghanistan.

    Taliban = terrorist
    Taliban sympathizers= terrorist sympathizers.
    I do believe our last govt(wont mention any names Kenmore)supported a terrorist organization here in Canada.
