NEW YORK (Reuters) - Record-breaking Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps issued an apology on Sunday after a British newspaper published a photograph purportedly showing him smoking marijuana.

    he wins an outstanding amount of gold medals all while being a marijuana smoker, me thinks people are mad because it directly pokes so many holes in the US's war on drugs.

    smoking dope is like drinking alcohol, it gets you fucked up, but when used responsibly can be something to losen you up at a party, in a bar, etc.

    Alcohol destroys your liver as much as dope fucks up your lungs.

    Ross Rebagliati got away with testing positive for pot usage during the 1998 Olympics in Nagano, and kept his Gold Medal, just goes to show....it ain't no big ting mon!

    Ross will not be competing in the 2010 winter Olympics. Ross has opted to take the position of Director of Snowboard and Ski Operations for Kelowna Mountain where he will be running his RASTA (Rebagliati Alpine Snowboard Training Academy) camps, training future snowboard athletes.

    Agreed.

    I've tried cigs to see what all the rage was about, and they are so disgusting. And I'm also getting turned off by alcohol, since I really don't like waking up with hangovers. I much prefer getting high with some buddies, waking up feeling normal and wondering what kind of delicious breakfast I'm going to make for myself.

    I really think that marijuana should be legal like alcohol and cigarettes since they do just as much damage. It is a potential cash crop adn for the msot part, a waste of police and government resources when they could be focusing on much harder/dangerous drugs and other issues.
