Theres no chance that not one of them is earth like. I thought they already discovered many earth like planets? Good atmosphere, water, air.

No, they haven't. I believe it was just a theory that there were trillions of Earth-like planets out there. But you had the right thought.

There was plenty of articles that use to be posted here with titles like "New Earth Like Planet discovered".

It would describe how it's earth like saying that the temp is earth like and liveable, etc. That it orbits the right distance between the sun like earth does.

Yeah, but none of them were technically Earth like...at least not confirmed to be.

"Earth like" could mean many things at this time. It has been a very recent event that we could even find Planets in other Solar Systems. So just finding one the approximate size or distance from a star as Earth is what makes it "Earth like". As our knowledge progresses we'll be abble to detect other factors, such as Atmosphere and eventually Atmosphere Composition that will increase the Earth Likeness.

Yep, Earth-like could mean it's just a rocky planet....like Venus, and not a gaseous planet like Jupiter.

General "Earth Like" parameters for astronomers is more of a description to find objects that are in a stars life zone.

If a planetary body is not in that zone, there is zero chance of finding life.

    I disagree.

Your entitled to, please state your argument, I can see the need to explore space and find planets that can sustain life due to what we are doing to this planet but... given the current situation this money could be better spent.

    Nasa is a government program.
As you can see, a government doesn't need money: it can just print it.

This money is a pittance in the grand scheme and the spinoff benefits of Space Exploration are massive. Perhaps no immediate, but they are a great longterm Investment.
