Ramp security is a work in progress in KAF. Other nations escort their Preds/Reapers with a Humvee in front and behind the UAV when taxiing. Those Humvees will force you off the taxiway if you dont give way. The incident in question happened at night and involved a security vehicle that impacted a wing. UAVs are really hard to see at night even though they run the anti-collision lights. The accident never should of happend, but cheap insurance is to provide escort vehicles.
Doesn't exactly mean that there is a problem with the fleet's reliablility as the article is trying to suggest.
