First it was an American spy balloon floating over Sarnia, Ont., that irked the city's mayor now it's American combat jets.

"In some cases it appears like a sonic boom when they pass over."

I'm sure you can't have the appeaeance of a sonic boom, I'm also fairly sure (correct me if I'm wrong) that pilots of fighter aircraft aren't allowed to break the sound barrier over metro areas unless in actual combat.
F-18's fly over our house in Calgary fairly regularily, the kids think it's the coolest and it doesn't bother me at all
Sounds like Sarnia is just looking for stuff to bitch about.

Warthogs can't exceed the speed of sound. Mach .5 is their limit.

But, yes. Supersonic is only allowed in certain areas. Sarnia isn't one of them.

I think Sarnia is being a big baby. Tell the Warthogs to fly over Windsor, I'd love to hear/see them. I see/hear Chinooks a lot more though, which is still a pretty neat sight

If the people of Sarnia were getting actual sonic booms from these or ANY aircraft, they'd fucking well know it.

What's the big deal? I never complained for all the years that the Canadians were driving the CF-18 out of Mather AFB and McClellan AFB for maintenance and navigation training.

It's not a big deal really Bart, it's just....well, that's just Sarnia for ya
Dow Chemical(if it's still there) hasn't had any major accidents in a long time now so Sarnia's desperate to get SOME mention in the news somehow, so people don't forget it exists

Just like the "spy balloon" recently. Although, just for shits and giggles, I would'a mooned it too

Big deal their A10's no sonic boom from these aircraft, no wonder their nick name is called flying pigs.

They do however get loud when they fire this off...

Gotta get that for a ring tone.

Wellll from what I understand, there's a group or 3 of F-15's at that same base as well. Not that it matters cuz like I said, if they were producing(creating? generating?) sonic booms, Sarnia would know it.

EDIT* oops, never mind, it was F-16's and they don't fly there no more.

meh i guess it's all good......just as long as the citizens don't light any trash fires then they are in no danger of being f*cking strafed.

gaaahhh, hate to do this....but that's an anti-armor weapon....not a stinger, you'd need to be one hell of a shot to peg a jet with one of those

This is fucking hilarious and fucking sad at the same time. I dunno whether it deserves a positive or a negative rep point.
