Move comes after focus groups thought the image was everything from stereotypical to not diverse enough to represent Canadas multi-culturalism

She said the ?overly sensitive? decision to remove the Asian features suggests prejudice against visible minorities persists in Canada.

?If Canada is truly multicultural and thinks that all cultural groups are equal, then any visible minority should be good enough to represent a country, including (someone with) Asian features.?

Of course, whitey always racist pig.

The only one being too fucking sensitive is this twat.

The $50 and $20 banknotes feature a research icebreaker and the Canadian National Vimy Memorial respectively, with no images of ordinary Canadians. Some members of the focus groups said the Vimy memorial looked disturbingly like New York?s twin towers, brought down by terrorists in 2001.

*sigh* which only proves how short sighted and idiotic most people are.

I don't care what they have on them as long as store accept them when I shop.

The original image was not designed or intended to be a person of a particular ethnic origin, bank spokesman Jeremy Harrison said in an interview, citing policy that eschews depictions of ethnic groups on banknotes.

    Much ado about nothing.

Aside from past Prime Ministers and/or the Queen, there really shouldn't be any other 'people' showing up on banknotes. The Vimy Memorial is an excellent choice, as is the icebreaker. If anything, let's put animals like the loon, polar bear, beaver, moose, etc. on the banknotes instead.

How about sticking to scenery? We have more than enough scenic vistas in Canada to put on every bill and then some!

I miss the birds quite frankly, though I would have enjoyed it if people actually used the birds name for the bills like Americans use the presidents.

"How about a trusty Snowy Owl to keep this between you and me?"

Maybe that would catch on!

IIRC, we have never had that beast on a coin or bill. edit: I mean commonly circulated coin or bill. Don't know about gold and silver coins.

Maybe on a quarter we have enough junk of them that just about anything could be featured.

The only good series was the "bird" series of bills.
It reminded you how fast they flew away...
