Anyone wanting to run for public office in a Quebec led by Pauline Marois will have to prove they can speak French first, the Parti Quebecois leader said as she announced her latest language-related campaign promise Tuesday.

What's next, proving your ancestry can be traced back to Normandy and Brittany?

I'm sure 7/8's will be enough. Maybe a little less if you sufficiently french.

If Quebecers vote this party in then they better have a referendum quick so we can get this split over and done with.

Agreed, then we can actually use all that freed up cash to balance our budget, Quebec will be back when they declare bankruptcy and join under the precondition that they have no extra rights anymore.

This won't even hold water for a minute before a court strikes it down as a violation of the charter.

They'll claim that they weren't signatories ....even though they are legally bound to follow it.

We should just make it so that the rest of Canada is English only and Quebecers can't leave Quebec, and that we can't pay taxes to anything that goes to Quebec.
I'm joking but seriously I hate Quebecers because they think they have special rights.

Citizenship now? lol, the fuckers are trying everything because they can't get that 51%, so they'll go around it. I am so sick of hearing about quebec and the never ending sense of entitlement that oozes from that place. If elected Iam sure this cunt will bring in a quebec passport too.

In a gym class in Grade 8, this guy from Quebec slaps the shit out of this one chick and she, being a fucking badass who does boxing, gets into it with him and he gets in less trouble then she does. Just because he's French.

The party has said it will pick fights with the rest of the country, and use each one to argue its case that Quebec's culture can't survive within Canada.

That's it. They are intentionally trying to piss us all off.

That won't actually matter that much.

    Notwithstanding.

Looks like they are doing a good job of it too.

I can see myself, as someone who wants Quebec to stay,
with conditions but even I have a limit,
as a minority group that is getting smaller every day.

Secure the south side of the St Laurence, and the North,
    cast the rest away.
Maybe a few years as a 3rd world country will show them something.

It has cost Canadians some $1.63 TRILLION dollars for "official bilingualism" since its inception.

Just something more to chew on.
